Looking for prototype photos of a C&S (BNSF) stockcar
Fantasy paint scheme? Looks like this car needs a repaint or relettering job
Burlington Route as suggested??

Moving livestock by rail was pretty much extinct by the mid-1980's. If BNSF had any carry-over stock cars, I seriously doubt they would have seen the paint shop.

Looks like a fantasy scheme to me.
Definitely a fantasy scheme. Stock shipments by rail stopped in the 1970's, replaced by trucks and refrigerated shipping from local slaughterhouses.
As noted, a fantasy scheme, for several reasons.
The C&S was a division of the CB&Q. The CB&Q merged into the Burlington Northern (along with the Great Northern and Northern Pacific, among others) in 1981, and the C&S disappeared. Subsequently, the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe merged into the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway on Dec. 31, 1996. Then on January 24, 2005, the railroad's name was officially changed to BNSF Railway. Thus, by the time cars appeared with BNSF on them, the C&S had been long gone.
In addition, as Rusty and Matt noted, stock cars had already disappeared for decades before BNSF came into being.
So the OP should be looking for photos of C&S stock cars (no BNSF).... Right?

Correct.
I was on a switch engine and spotted the last car of livestock at San Bernardino in the early 1970's, probably 1973.
No BNSF stock cars.
pro hobby,
I'm sorry to say that BNSF don't even have in their rolling stock equipment a 'Live Stock' car:

MTH Premier stock car is a nice touch, anyway.

You can put a BURLINGTON ROUTE herald on a square styrene sheet in place of the BNSF.

Umm... don't think so. I believe the date you are after is March 2, 1970.
M Day was March 2, 1970 for the GN, NP, CB&Q and SP&S. The Frisco merged into the BN in 1980. But the C&S and FW&D existed on paper until 1981 and 1982 respectively.

I believe some locomotives in Cascade Green were initialed and numbered for the C&S and FW&D.
The last stock cars were built for the CB&Q in 1962, class SM-19C. They were 50' cars.
I located a photo of the more typical 40' car class SM-19B:
According to the data, the photo was taken in 1981. It appears to be in MOW service and looks pretty tired.

Thanks for posting the stock car photo and info on the last CB&Q stock cars. A close up view of a car from an elevated point is hard to find. It shows the diagonal panel roof like that used on the Trainman and MTH models.
For more info on O scale stock car models have a look at the O Scale Freight Car Guide to Stock Cars.
