I will be driving from NJ to Detroit and I’m looking for train stores to stop in along Route 80.
stores already on the list: Stockyard Express, Great Lakes Hobby, Great Train Store, Beltline Hobbies
thanks for your help!

I don't know how far you are willing to go off of I80, but CT McCormick Hardware in Zelienople, PA is about 35 minutes down I79 from the I79/I80 interchange, and Hobby Express in Cranberry, PA is, according to Google Maps, a little over 40 minuted down I79. Both are relatively close to I79.

I have really enjoyed the slight detour off I-80 to Weedville, PA where the Valley Farm Market train shop is located in a gas station. I found items there that I hadn't seen before.
If Stockyard Express is already on your list you may know this, but I think they want you call before visiting.
The Underground R R Shop is not far off 80 in New Castle, Pa.
5 minutes north of rte 80 exit 60 is a pretty nice layout to see
The Train Station in Mountain Lakes, N.J., is right off Route 80. If you like post-war Lionel, it's definitely worth a visit.
For less than two hours total travel time (according to Google maps) you can take I-79 south to Hobby Express in Cranberry, north to C T McCormick in Zelienople, then northwest to The Underground Railroad Shoppe (https://www.undergroundrrshop.com/) in New Castle; then I-376 W (travel direction is north) to I-80 at West Middlesex.
Good luck & happy trails in whatever routes you take!
Grzyboski's Trains is about 30 minutes north of I80 i the Poconos
At the western end of I-80 in PA,there is a rather large lawn/garden store called Kraynak's. I have not visited that store for a number of years, but at one time they had a rather large selection of trains for sale. I never bought anything from them but my wife tells me that they have been around forever, since she was little. Too bad that Dave M's shop closed. It was just a hop, skip and jump from I-80 in Mercer.
That was a great store.

I second Andy's suggestion. These are the two shops I use.
Thanks for the ideas everyone.
Corner Field Model RR Museum and Trading Post is about 37 mins north of where I-80 passes through Ravenna, OH. Not sure if that's too far, just thought I would mention them. Good thread!!
