Losing DCS during operation and many times at startup | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Since having a minor fall, my 4-6-4 PS 2 steamer has trouble responding to remote control. Starts mainly in conventional, and have trouble getting DCS. 1 tiu and remote. 3 other ps2 and 1 ps3 run OK .This engine has a cap instead of battery. As a result of the fall, I had to remove and straighten the linkage between engine and tender. Is there an insulator I could have lost? Have cleaned wheels and rollers. Also, I have a 18V bulb across the TIU output terminals.
