I'm really sorry I don't have a picture of this, but tonight my wife and I went to see a play in downtown Houston.  We travel south on the Hardy Toll Road from the Woodlands until it ends at the 610 Loop, about 25 miles maybe?  In between the north and south bound lanes of the HTR there are 5-6 UP lines.  I always see impressive consists going places on those tracks.

Today was the most impressive.  If you've ever seen the blades for the huge wind turbines like they have in West Texas, you know they're massive, about 150 feet long and 30-40 feet high.  I've seen three of them on trains on the Hardy, but today was incredible.  There must have been 30 blades being carried somewhere.  One blade straddled 2 or 3 flat cars, with special supports on those cars to carry either the blade tip or the part that gets connected to the turbine.  In between each blade are 1 or 2 empty flat cars as well, therefore this train was really, really long.  Since I was doing 75 or so, and it was rush hour traffic, I couldn't whip out my phone to take a pic.

@Mark V. Spadaro,

I don't know if you saw a post I quickly took down, since it appeared to have some info from my iPad.

What I posted was a link to this article in 'Texas Monthly' about where old wind turbine blades go to die.  It appears you can access this story and another story many times, but if try to access a third story you have to buy a subscription.  I found the article to be very interesting.  The moral of the story is green energy isn't always so green.
