Mike,
I have seen a few of the Lowell Smith n-scale fruit grower reefers and they looked really nice, so I thought I'd take a chance and order one of their new special run Atlas O scale northwest fruit grower 40' wood reefers. Be advised, these cars are not cheap, as with the shipping my car was $93. As stated on their website, these are sort of "fantasy cars", as they didn't actually exist. The cars are decorated with the various colorful labels that were found on the ends of wood crates containing fruit(or vegetables) throughout the steam era. My car arrived several days ago and I'm glad that I ordered it-very nice looking car. This is the first one in a series, and according to a letter that I received with the car they are going to be produced in O scale in the same order that the n scale reefers were produced(I believe there are 18 or 19 of the n scale ones). If you go the the Lowell Smith website, there are different categories to browse through and you can see what O scale reefers will be coming, based on the n scale ones. I purchased a three rail reefer, but two rail is also available. Anyway, here are a couple of photos to show what the first reefer looks like.
