Hi guys, been doing some maintenance lately and was wondering what everyone’s brand of lubricant that they use for general maintenance. I know there’s a bunch out there. I have been using the Lionel oil that they comes in the service package.I’m getting low and just curious to see if there’s anything better or just as good. All my rollingstock and locomotives don’t see too much service but I do like to keep them well-maintained. I have had suggestions to use 3 and 1 oil to using full synthetic?..let me know what you guys think

I tend to use Labelle oil and grease with teflon on mine. A little goes a long way.
I've used LucasOil Red and Tacky for the internal gears and it seems to keep everything quiet and doesn't dry out or harden. Lowes sells a large tube that will last a lifetime.
Anything made by Labelle.

Labelle's for gears; Bachmann EZ-lube (conductive) for pick-up rollers; and Niftech micro-bearing oil for wheels (old r/c lube).
A single malt.

Thanks for the suggestions, I was unsure if automotive based lube would be safe for some plastics. All great answers
thanks
