Lionel mentioned at the TCA presentation that the new bathtub gondolas were made in Romania from a new vendor. I am excited to see these. Possible the same vendor that makes stuff for Marklin?

Wow .... glad to hear that! I hope it is the start to something great.
Sorry I missed it. Thanks for the heads up.
Marklin has a big operation in Gyor, Hungary, so I do not believe they have operations in Romania.
All the best,

Owned by the same holding company, Roco and Fleischmann branded equipment is now being manufactured at a Romanian factory in Arad. Production was shifted from China within the last few years. I have several recently produced Fleischmann N scale models and they are indeed labeled as having been built in Romania. Production quality of the models is superb, no doubt due in large part to the demanding standards established within the continental European enthusiast community. I have no idea if Lionel is planning to use the same manufacturer building the Roco and Fleischmann models or if another vendor is involved. I'm just throwing this information out since the subject of production for certain Lionel models in Romania was brought up for discussion.

Romania is a great place for Lionel to have their Halloween train sets & accessories manufactured. They would be genuine "Transylvania Rail Road Express" !!!
Any "Transy" fans on the forum ? We do have lots of Pennsy fans.

While I am a Pennsy fan, I am also a big fan of Lionel's Standard O Halloween items. I'm hoping that the next time they do scale PRR K4's that one of the offerings will be a "Transylvania Railroad" version (maybe with some cheesy Dracula-type accented cab and tower chatter ).

Well, yes I suppose. The Mrs. was born and raised in Transylvania!
