I was on-line this evening googling and I stumbled upon these cool pics of Maintenance of Way vehicles in ho scale. Wouldn't it be cool to have these in o scale? Here is the direct link to the website these photos were on, http://www.1-87vehicles.org/ph...61/jesse_weigand.php
Die Cast Direct has a railroad excavator in 1:50 here. The wheels might need to be re-gauged. Other than that, I haven't seen much other than cranes and boom cars.

Thanks for sharing that. I have not seen anything except for some items Lionel and MTH have produced. I just thought the above M.O.W. Would be awesome To add to a layout if they were O scale. Maybe one day that will happen.
I am likely going to have MOW vehicles upon my layout somewhere as this adds dimension to any layout. Especially a modern one. Those pictures are really quite nice.

Nice idea Chris.
I agree that we can use a lot more offerings in our scale because they provide an occasional break from the normal passenger and freight trains.
Here is a video of some MOW units I shot on my layout a few years ago.
Another MOW item you can add is a pipe layer. It's essentially a bulldozer with a boom on one side and an adjustable counterweight on the other. Railroads use them to re-rail locomotives. I'm sure a pipe layer boom could be modified to be a passable re-railing lift.
Here's a prototype used by that railroad I don't like to talk about:
Here's a Caterpillar promotional model (probably a Norscott, which Die Cast Direct also sells):
