I posted a similar question in my Frankenstein loco rebuild thread, but I thought maybe I'd ask separately.

I've got an older custom DC (Pittman) motor in a really interesting loco. I also happen to have a QSI ACRU and a selection of diodes.

Can I configure four diodes, a bridge rectifier stolen from a different busted board, and my ACRU to create a DCRU for this guy? I've tried looking at the reverse units on the PS1 boards, but I can't follow the traces under the bridge and relays. But I feel like there's got to be a way... It are there transistors involved?

If I can't use this QSI unit, is there any way to cut away the reversing part of a PS1 board and use it by soldering some leads in the right places? A full PS1 board won't fit in the engine.
