Years ago in one of the O Gauge train publications there was a article how to make your own pictures for the Lionel Animated Billboard.  Anyone recall which issue?  Or similar instructions how to make them?

I have one in for repair and the customer would like to change out the picture as well.

Here is a picture of similar product:

Thanks

Jim

Hey Dennis...Thanks for info....haven't gotten that far yet.  Has anyone on the forum taken one of these apart and been able to get the 4 sandwiched sign sheets out of the billboard.  Once again I am grateful for any assistance here.  Right now thinking this might be a billboard too far....but the LIONELVILLE/JOCKO theme just has to go.  Thanks....g

Hi Jim....Thanks for the update.  In your original post you indicated that you would be changing the pictures....were you able to do this or did you fix the mechanism with the same pictures.  Were you able to get the pictures out of the billboard without damaging the billboard screen.  If so I could use a little guidance on how best to do this.  Have removed the circuit board and solenoid along with removing the billboard from its base....but don't see how to get the sliding pictures out of the billboard itself.  Pls help if you can.  Thanks.....g

Hi Jim....one more try.  Glad you were able to fix the billboard and keep it off of the trash heap.  I admire people with that skill set.  Were you able to change the sign or did you fix it with the original billboard.  I have looked and the only articles I found were for non-operating billboards....nothing on the operating billboard.  Thanks.......g

Thanks Jim.....I am stymied as to how to get the sliding mechanism out of the billboard without breaking it....I have some old CTT that I will look thru and see if I see the article you refer to.  I don't remember it however, and believe I would since I never liked the Jocko sport sign, but I did like the animation.  Thanks again for responding.
