I am moving into an apartment and don't want to bother my new neighbors with a lot of train noise.
Would putting a rubber mat 1/2" thick ( I have the rubber mats already) under each table leg cut out some of the train noise for them?
Any ideas wuld be appreciated.

You are off to a good start.
Isolate everything between the layout and the building to help cut down on the noise.
If you really want to reduce noise get rid of all your track screws .Glue it down or use wire ties to fasten it down. Screwed down it'll transmit the sound . A carpet under the layout will also help.

Thanks for the advice guys. I have carpet on the apt floor and I think the 1/2"
Rubber pieces under the legs will also help. I use K-line Shadow Rail track on 1" styrofoam on top of 1/2" plywood using Mianne bench frame work. I use a little hot glue to tack down some of the track around corners and by switches.
When I get moved in and set up, I let you know how it sounds. I'll post some pics too.
