Here's a nifty trick...if you want a conventional lionel or williams turbine with turbine sound...do this:
Get one of the older diecast tenders with railsounds built in, it will work with the 2426 or the pennsy-style tender...these come stock with 'chuff'...
The chip sets from the century club turbine will function in these tenders...and the sound boards for the century club tenders are still available...or the whole century club turbine is available cheaper every day.
So...you can swap out the chips to the seperate tender and have a turbine tender with turbine sound to run behind any turbine you want...
My 1946 turbine now pulls a pennsy tender and sounds like the turbine it is!
