It's interesting you post this Charlie, all the points on our club layout are hand made. We have MTH switches on our modular layout, which are very poor performing, and we've decided to rip them out and make our own. It must be an Australian thing.
I've used the Fast Tracks tooling to make some turnouts in On30. They are by far the smoothest turnouts I've ever seen. Pushing a Bachmann On30 flatcar through one of them by hand, I could not even feel the wheels crossing the frog. Terrific product!
I'm using Fast Tracks switches on an HO switching layout I'm currently building, and I just bought the necessary Fast Tracks tooling to tackle making my own #4 double slip switch.
I’m a Fast Tracks fan also. Like Dwight said “smooth and quiet at the frog.” My FT jig has paid for itself a long time ago. I’ve been building turnouts for a friend’s layout in trade for some rolling stock.

Add me to the fan list. Mine are On3. Except for my first build, all my turnouts are very smooth. And, they are fun to build. With Fast Tracks point and frog tools, you can also make custom switches. I've made several curved ones. This is a very good product IMO.
