The March O Scale Meet Committee would like to thank everybody who attended the March Meet as well as those who were unable to attend but still supported our endeavor . We also thank the Westin Hotel for giving us another opportunity to hold our event on their property.
Thank you to Fred Soop for coordinating dealer set up; Dan Hiller, Mike Slater, Wally Rogers and Bonnie Rogers for Hall Oversight, Cully Kowal, Nancy Kowal Paula Schafer, Ruth Sukowatey-Hiller, Shaydin Anthony, Kyn Anthony, James Price and Henry Carney for assistance with Registration as well as dealer load in/load out.
Everything went surprisingly well given that this was the first event for the members of this committee. Special thanks is due to Bruce Blackwood and David Vaughn of O Scale Central, Daniel Dawdy and Amy Dawdy of O Scale Resource. Without the assistance of these individuals, the Meet would not have run as smoothly.
Most of all, the March Meet Committee and I believe the entire O Scale Community wish to thank the Hill Family for their generosity and support which allowed the meet to continue. The transfer from the Hill Family to the current committee took place during very challenging times. Although circumstances were far from ideal, we managed to pull it off.
Moving forward, the March Meet Committee is committed to hosting the March O Scale Meet for at least 2 more years. We have a contract for 2023 and given the necessity to plan more than 1 year in advance we will negotiate a contract for 2024, hotel willing. If we have enough support, we will continue beyond 2024. We are optimistic that things will return to 100% normal post covid. We owe it to the O Scale Community to give it a shot and we will try our best.
We will remain in touch and will begin discussing the 2023 meet really soon. Thank You again everybody!
