I was intrigued by Alan's design of the buoy as boating is another long term interest of mine. I am planning a harbor scene on a future layout. I obtained two of these from Alan. I found them to be nicely detailed and a good size for a main harbor buoy. Two of these are what one might first encounter at sea when approaching a harbor from the ocean. I painted one red and one green (per prototype). I painted the red with a brush and the green lights with spray, both worked. Alan provided for LED lights and a wire conduit in the middle. I have not addressed the lights yet. They should make a good addition to my future harbor scene.
