Did I miss a tech bulletin for marker lights in the PS3 diesel upgrade kits? Only one set works when both are plugged in. Any suggestions?
i have not tried different chain files
Thanks!

Hey, I had the same problem on my first and only upgrade. Everything else works. I figured I goofed up somewhere, but since I wanted to wrap that up and start building my layout in February, I left it sit for the time being.
Chain file. Sorry
I’ll look into that. Thank you, Dave!
Dave, what exactly is the solution? I have on my bench with this issue and I haven't worked very hard to solve it since the need tack boards due to mis-wiring from MTH
News to me. Check wiring for polarity. PS-2 and 3 are opposite wired in the molex. Maybe some one wired the connector wrong at the factory. G
The last box of diesel upgrade kits I received had a fix for the problem you are describing I believe. They included a resistor to install in the red led's to reduce their voltage. If the red/green led's were used together, the green would not light up. With the resistor installed, they worked fine together. If used individually, red or green, they worked OK without the resistor although the red led was a bit brighter. I will get the instructions from the shop and post tomorrow. It showed how to add the resistor and its value.
That’s my issueBrian, the red are brighter than the green and wh3n plugged up together only the red work. I used PS2 markers that I retired for another one and they worked just fine. I don’t have my account active with MTH right now, I’m waiting for a Regina to set up a new one so I don5 hav3 access to the online resource and ASC Service bulletins

Yup, me too! Though I never was an MTH technician, and this is my first ever upgrade.
Brian, Matt,
That might be what is happening to me. I was finishing this up at home and know I had the wrong chain files installed. I will try the correct chain files tomorrow and post the results.
This kit is one of the ones with the incorrectly wired tach readers. I thought I read something about installing a resistor but couldn't find the post.
Thanks for the help!
Dave
FWIW, some of the subways were shipped from MTH with the red and green LED's in parallel, needless to say, the green ones didn't work.
My tach boards were miswired too. I do remember the resistor thing now that I think about it. I’ll look thru my emails from Jason
I couldn’t find any emails. The problem is the resistor. I installed the correct chain files and still have the same problem. The next two kits I opened had a tech sheet and a resistor.
That’s the same info I had, thanks for posting.
Thank you, Dave!
Thanks Dave, I’ll get one installed when I get home
I only got a diesel upgrade kit recently. I've already ran it too. Is there anything to check with the tach wiring? Will they work as mis-wired?
