Is Marklin Gauge 1 still a going concern? I am having trouble locating any of their deluxe starter sets. Also does Marklin/LGB still have a German factory?
"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.
Post your non-O scale stuff here!

Hi Mike, Marklin Gauge 1 is still being made and with companies like KM 1 producing high quality, high end items Gauge 1 has properly never seen better times.
Marklin LGB production is centered in Gyor, Hungary, halfway between Vienna and Budapest. I have been there a couple of times and the quality is very good. Marklin still has its headquarters in Goeppingen, and in my opinion, has seen an improvement since being taken over by the Simba-Dicky group. Miketg
High quality, but NOT inexpensive, models.
The Gauge 1 line and starter sets still do not seem readily available from dealers. Perhaps its in between new product.

Good friendly helpful people.
Best of luck.
Reynauld's is an EXCELLENT source for Marklin Gauge One!
I think only the really large dealers in the states like Reynaulds carried the gauge 1 stuff. There is also a newer player in the gauge one live steam market, Bowande/Wuhu out of China. Models from the USA/Germany and UK have been done in live steam with proper valve gear, correct number of cylinders like on 3 and 4 cylinder engines ect. They run better than most of the gauge one live steam from Marklin which was done for them by Regner in recent years. I have several of the old Marklin Maxi gauge 1 tinplate items in my collection. Marklin Gauge One is in the somewhat rarified atmosphere so to speak. Beautifully executed and precision manufactured and priced accordingly.
