Hey guys & ladies;

Just got in some Marklin "O" trains. They are 3 rail. Loco is # "E66/12920" 4-4-0 w/ tender. # passenger cars # 17510, # 17520 & 17530. The roofs are hinged, and doors work.  The set is in really nice condition. There is an assembled 1 piece single crossing switch, and straight & curved track. A tin double track semaphore, hand operated. A pedestrian crossover bridge, and several stations. The roofs are loose on the stations, (tabs), but are not nearly as nice as the trains themselves.  Question is what vintage might they be?  I looked on eBay, but only found 2 #1 gauge items, no "O" trains. Are they worth anything in particular?  The loco looks excellent, but doesn't run. There is no zinc pest anywhere. The 2 freight cars are 1 gondola, and 1 flat car.   Thank you, Harry

Yes nice stuff. I think they stopped making 0 gauge in 1954-55. Could be prewar or post. You can look on german ebay for price references, but they are junk lol just send em! Kidding of course. That is a decent sized set. Parts are a real pain!  You should make the steamr wheels cause I need some for my HR66-920 4-6-2 loco.  There 1800 & 1900 series pass cars both bigger than yours. Cars could have lighting and interiors as options . I'd like em but probably out of my range.

Märklin is always worth anything! Locomotives and cars with the numbers you mentioned were made between 1935 and 1954 with detail differences. You can find info and prices realised here: https://www.historytoy.com/toys-Railway

I recently bought a 17520 and a 17530 in good condition (without interior; you did not mention your have interior or not (they were made with and without); it makes a price difference) for respectively 70 and 60 Euro. The loco might be around 300-400 Euro.

Regards

Fred

Thank you all for the info. The only thing I could not ID are the 3 stations, pedestrian crossover and signal. None of these items are marked in any way.  I am taking to Hamburg train meet Sunday. Have 3 tables full of misc. odds & ends. HO, S, O, & std.  All priced to "NOT BRING BACK". Maybe some of you can make it.   Harry
