Solenoid is slow and weak going 1 way. Are they repairable or new available?

Presumably it is weak getting pulled in under power?
Get some aerosol spray cleaner and spray it inside the solenoid while operating the solenoid by hand until it moves freely. Could be dirt inside causing it to bind.
I highly doubt you will find new parts for a 60+ year old Marx locomotive.
What is the number on the loco?
Larry
Thanks Larry. It is a 999 train set. My dad's from Christmas 1946. I was just now moving it by hand slowly and found a small area of bind on one guide ear. Bent it up slightly and now works good enough. Has seen alot of years of storage in boxes with stuff stacked on top. Can understand how it got tweaked a bit.
Sorry. Just looked at my post. Did not make it clear. I was asking about the track switcher. Thanks, working better now
A switcher is a locomotive. I assume you meant a track switch, also known as a turnout in the hobby?
