Since I talk to him quite regularly, I hadn't noticed that Marty hasn't posted here for 2 months.
So sound off here and tell Marty to get posting again

Chris I was just thinking the same thing last night, that I haven't seen the curmudgeon in a while. Hey Marty come out and play lol!
Yes I agree that Marty E is hiding so please come out and play Marty E. I thought maybe because of all the sports stuff going on he has been stuck in the white trailer to much.
I miss Marty too, I get why hes been away, same reason there are a number of folks who rarely post anymore.
Marty E we want you back, you're a total asset to this forum. I'm sure everyone will agree.
COME BACK BUDDY WE MISS YOU
Alex
Either he, or someone, opened a new account on 10/31/12 using his first and last name.
Harry, that was him had to do with the changeover to the Premium Membership that didn't work as planned. He doesn't use it
Marty we need you to play trains with us.
Marty and I had some fun, here; awhile back. He seemed to get me; when many others didn't. He was always more than willing to post pictures for me, too - The Guinness Trestle, Mount VOXMORE...
I sat back and watched as things went sideways; when I could have - I didn't try to clear-up or clarify an erroneous misunderstanding. A lot of things were really messed up in my life, awhile back; and some still are.
For some reason, I have always shunned using emoticons; I sort of go by - either you get me(my meaning) or you don't. For me, it takes something out of the exchange, if I have to explain myself; it doesn't feel natural.
During one of our last exchanges, here, I gave Marty a few jabs; genuine, but not trying to be hurtful, re: his bias's towards Lionel... I'm probably overly candid for most peoples comfort level; even if I'm stating my true feelings. I always thought there was honor in being that way; experience has shown me others don't always see it that way and can be hurt...
Marty, if I have offended you in any way... I am truly sorry; I enjoyed knowing you and hanging out with you, here.
Rick
quote from MartyE;
"I have been an active participant in this forum for over 10 years. As of late there has been enough reason on the forum through no fault of the OGR folks that has left me feeling it's time to take an extended break.
Still checking in daily and shaking my head a lot."

I also miss marty he taught me a lot about the legacy system.
MARTY,
Come back, WE miss you. You were truly an asset to the FORUM and everyone involved!!!!
Fredstrains
Marty, Legacy support and conversation here is not the same without you!
Hope to see you around.
I think this is the same Marty that worked on large TV remote broadcast trucks. Having retired from the same business, I miss his travel stories, as well his train knowledge.
Mike it is, but he moved into designing the trucks now
I always liked Marty's post and the information he would give us and as is the case with Dale I wish they would come back.
But, who knows what is going on in folks lives? There may be a reason for him staying away. I have done this myself from time to time, mostly because personal business was just too demanding to spend the few moments to post a few short replies.
But, I always manage to drop in and read what is the going topics so maybe Marty will see this and know that he is missed.
Just heard from Marty on another train forum so he's alive and well. As for this forum, the bio in his profile and quoted above says it all. Sometimes for whatever reason people just need a break.
MartyE's posts were always:
knowledgeable
informative without "talking down"
infused with a love for the hobby
Did I mention he was a Lionel fan?
Although I have never personally met the gentleman, he has always seemed like a nice chap, and I wish him well!
Used to visit a fair amount with him when the ogauge chat room was up, along with numerous others. Miss those Friday nite talks, haven't heard much from several former regulars from the chat that also used to post here. For instance, what happened to the member from Minnesota that used to occasionally open the confessional here?

Blast from the past - 2005-6. IC Mike, yourself, Marty, can't remember all the guys, but it was always fun.

Yojimbo!
I'm certainly not among the most frequent posters on the forum, but I always paid special attention to Marty's posts. His imput on the TMCC/Legacy forum especially, helped me on a number of occasions. His descriptive videos were exceptionally well done, in a step by step, easy to follow tutorial.
Thanks and enjoy your break, MartyE.
George
Welcome to the "break" club Marty. I hope all is well.
Lady and Steve
He and I had a great chat via emails one night about our love of dogs and how they become such an important part of our lives. Kodi was always present on his layout someplace.
Hope all is well Marty......
Hope to see you at YORK, MARTY.
Speaking of "Forum Elders" where's Bob Coniglio?
Rick B.: "For some reason, I have always shunned using emoticons; I sort of go by - either you get me(my meaning) or you don't. For me, it takes something out of the exchange, if I have to explain myself; it doesn't feel natural"
I agree with you Rick. Alas, I have had to start using emoticons sometimes.
Uh oh Rich. You don't dare use the words "forum elders". That will start another war.
.....
Dennis
I'm afraid Bob became "electronically disconnected" through no choice of his own. My understanding wasthat that his access to the forum was through a shared computer at the facility he was living in.
I have always attributed his lack of postings to a rampaging herd of elephants from a certain "facility" than the grimmer and less pleasant reality. That and the OGR owner's desire to cut your hosting provider's bill in half. ;-)
Best,
Jim
Marty when you read this, I just hope all is well with you and yours.
