Has anyone got any tricks or information how they got a 416A MARX LIGHT TOWER TO WORK? I have put in new bulbs and completely rewired. Could it be the end of the bulb in not making connection to the back of threaded fitting

Hard to tell from the photos but are the wires from the back of the bulb socket attached to the terminal that is insulated from the base. It looks like they are attached to the terminal that does not have the gray insulation. Just for fun, disconnect eh whit wires from the base and connect one lead from you power supply directly to the white wires and the other lead to the terminal on the base that does not have the gray insulation. If the tower has been repainted, are sure the paint is scraped off where the ground post is to insure conductivity.
I have 8 or 9 of these on my layout and like them a lot.
Good luck ,

if not too much trouble could you take a couple of pics from one of your towers showing the wiring on base from light sockets and how you wired base to power source
thanks Steve
One of the two binding posts should be connected to the metal frame/base of this accessory. The other binding post should be isolated from the metal frame/base. The white wires from the lamp sockets should go to the binding post that is isolated from the frame/base.
Circuit is from isolated binding post to center connection of lamp socket, then through bulb, then through the screw in part of the socket into the metal frame/base through the metal frame/base to the non-isolated binding post.
There are two posts with the same title. See the others post with answers.
Hi Don and others who commented. I utilized your suggestions and finally got the light tower to work as displayed by the pic. I had some problems getting the left light to work because of getting the wire soldered just right to touch the back of bulb. I ended up disconnecting the left wire, putting the bulb in. Reinserted wire touching back of bulb and soldered the wire in the back carefully without getting too hot.
Voila success and thanks
