Nice pictures everyone, I too love these wonderful Marx accessories!
Steve, I knew you were working on that layout, but this is the first time I have seen it complete and boy it is nice! Wonderful job on weaving everything together there.
I've got a few Marx accessories on the layout, but I'll start this off with a classic: a Marx grade crossing signal. This one has been upgraded with LED lights and a homemade flasher circuit:
Thanks for posting.
Show us more. Just love the Marx accessories. walter wayne
NICE! THANKS for sharing!
A Marx "Automatic" signal on my layout... it's not automatic with the windup trains.

Great responses so far,keep'em coming
The Marx Derrick is one of my favorite Marx accessories:
Strictly speaking, the Lumar Construction Company isn't a train accessory, but it sure does make a nice customer for my railroad:

I took my wife, our son and grandson, son's new girlfriend, and an old family friend to see the Nixon displays. Steve's layout blew the others away and all of them were great. y pics didn't turn out but the ones in this video show it off beautifully.
Thanks again, Steve.
I like their towers. I convert mine to LEDs shown here

J white, what is the yellow building just on the side of the track by the tunnel? It looks like some sort of diner. Thanks.

It is a diner. It's new Marx or Ameritrains. They also made one in Orange for a club convention and in silver as a Christmas accessory that I know of. i will try to post a better picture of it this weekend.

Thank you J White. That has the "Marx look" so I have something to search for at York this year. Appreciate it.
Here are the other two in that style that were made. The Christmas Diner and the Haunted House.

Wow, what a delightful variety of uses for Marx accessories. Here is shot of a portable layout I built to take to schools, senior centers, etc with a group of four others. Each of us has a different theme for their layout. I decided mine would be "tin". All buildings and accessories are Marx, Skyline and some of the other 50's style buildings.

Here is a VIDEO of my favorite Marx operating accessory, the AUTOMATIC DUMPING UNIT#1615 and the SIDE DUMPING CAR #567.
Steve-Thanks for the additional information.
Dave-Great video, can't believe the original prices for the cars and the dumping unit!!!
George
David, I always love your videos. This one shows the fun of the dump car and station so well. Thanks!
Man, that's postwar right there. Makes you smile just to look at it.
One Marx accessory I have not seen in 40 years was called a 'trackside light'. It connected to the track like a Marx lock-on, blades that fit between the fold in the rail. It was black plastic that looked like a mailbox and had 2 amber lens. It was lit with a screw base bulb. i would supposed most melted from the heat of the bulb.
Anyone have a picture of one?
