Hi,

I just picked up three green battery operated Marx accessories today at a show.  The lights do work but faintly even with a good battery.  Are there any tricks of the trade for cleaning up the contacts and getting the lights brighter?  What voltage lamps should I use since they run off of a "D" cell battery?

          Thank you,

Steve,

Do you know a source for the colored flat bulbs for the traffic signal and the long bulb for the railroad crossing?  Are the accessories easy to repair?  I am trying to use accessories that would have been used by the wind up sets, since I am not planning on using electric sets.

          Thanks,

          Kevin

From the few I have held, There were 3 tabs, 2 on one side, one centered on the other side. The two tab side were not bent fully. The single tab was not bent over and also had a slight curve. The two loose tabs allowed to housing to rock back and the single tab with the curve would "snap" into it's slot. Worked good when new, but after 70 years, hard to find any still in the configuration.
