I am considering putting Marx scale trucks on a Lionel caboose that I have in GN color and decal. Is the scale (size) differences that noticeable?
Any thoughts/experience would be appreciated.

They will look small as they’re 3/16ths (S) scale.
The caboose would be riding really low on 3/16ths Marx trucks - there might not be enough clearance between the car’s frame and the trucks unless it was shimmed up.
Thank you for responding. The caboose is similar to a Lionel lines 6257. I bought the caboose without the box. It is slightly larger than the Marx 20102 NYC caboose. It has been suggested elsewhere to compare the two with a scale ruler.
Thanks again, Bob
Good thought about the clearance. Too much shimming and the purpose would be defeated.
I replaced one Lionel truck with a Marx scale one. It ran and looked ok when coupled to a Marx scale box car. I don't have tight curves which might be more difficult. Thanks again for your comments.
I have a Marx 3/16 Pacemaker box car with a Marx truck on one end and a Gilbert 3/16 O link coupler truck on the other end. My guess is that someone used it to mix cats and use a Gilbert 3/16 Locomotive to pull them
