Last week I bought a Marx set almost new in the box. It has set # 7650 on the box and inside is an M10005 diesel engine with 3 freight cars and a caboose plus track, lockon and transformer. Do any of the Marx collectors know when it was made and an approximate value. The cars have non-operating plastic couplers and 4 wheels. I would appreciate any info mostly out of curiousity. The engines and cars are like new.

Hi Jim. I would post this on the tinplate forum. We have a couple of MARX guys over there that would probably have your answer. Pictures would help if you have them.
The book lists your set, but does not give a manufacturing date. Probably mid 50's to early 60's. Look at the bottom of your set box. They sometimes have the year in the box makers logo.
