Yahoo (Verizon) has neglected the Yahoo groups for a few years. This week they announced:

Yahoo has made the decision to no longer allow users to upload content to the Yahoo Groups site. Beginning October 28, you won't be able to upload any more content to the site, and as of December 14 all previously posted content on the site will be permanently removed. You'll have until that date to save anything you've uploaded.

This means they will become effectively useless.

We have decided to move the forum to groups.io. Groups.io makes it easy to basically transfer all the Yahoo content to the new group. The new site is open for business as of this evening although only new content is showing. It can take a week or so for all the Yahoo content to transfer. If you are a Marx fan, come on by, but bear with us as we get it up to speed and figure out how it works

We received a notice from groups.io that the migration of data from Yahoo has started, It may take a few days.

did you pay out of your own pocket to have this transition to .io take place? have seen other moderators who were switching other groups asking for donations to defray the cost. I think the Saki/Seki group was over $100.00

For now Dave Farquhar has paid for it. When it all settles down we'll figure out how to reimburse him and set up future payments.
