- Y'all are like "my ZW-L puts out 600 watts!"
We get a lot of work done 'round here with just 20.
Joking aside I got this little guy for $10 and it's perfect for the little loop under the Christms tree. It's in good shape too, inside and out.

I'm not familiar with the transformer in your photo. The only Marx transformer I owned didn't have a built-in circuit breaker. So if yours also doesn't have one, I would be careful about using it on carpet, or around anything flammable. You could also install an Airpax external breaker as cheap insurance. My $.02.

Absolutely. There are no circuit breakers or fuses of any kind in or on the transformer. It won't be used around anything flammable (fake tree on laminate) but your recommendation makes total sense.

Carpet is non-flammable.
These little transformers without breakers are thermally protected... they dissipate more power in heat than they consume.
@SteamWolf posted:Could you elaborate on the second part please Rob?
Imagine placing a 30-40 watt incandescent lamp inside that metal housing, plugging it in & leaving it on for 24 hours, while sitting on a piece of paper.
@SteamWolf posted:The box would get pretty hot... Would anything burn up though?
No.
