In the Dec. 2013 issue the layout in the above article looks like something I would like to try and build. I already have a 4x8 table built but as a inexperienced beginner, I was wondering just how to go about building something like this. My woodworking skills are minimal as are my wiring skills. I actually have most of the track and switches and even the graduated trestle set. any advice would we be appreciated.

Detailed instructions on how to build a layout are probably beyond the scope of this forum.
You should check with your LHS, pick up a how-to book or two on layout table building, trackwork, wiring, etc; get a DVD or two on the subject, then have at it.
If you run into any problems as you go the knowledgeable members on this forum will gladly help.
