Looks like Ed's help has arrived.
Truly unbelievable! The current manager inherits a well lit, well heated, and well equipped shop with a late model drop-table, and all sorts of machines capable of working on and maintaing modern large steam locomotives back in 2010, then he tears it all apart. He also wants to get rid of the worn-out historic diesel units, not to mention the big rotary snow plow. He also no longer has competent knowledgable work force (only 4 men now) capable of working on any of the three steam locomotives.
Sad, very sad.

Just a whole lot more of nothing much. UP steam is a farce.
What happened?
What happened?
And I didn't either. I received a phone call from a friend out in Cheyenne who did watch the farce, and also told me about some of the truly hilarious comments on that Facebook site.
It looks like Scott George's first week or so on the job. Way to give the new guy a break. Back to business as usual? Good job guys!
We will not learn much from a UPRR sanctioned YouTube video which was produced by the previous manager. Let's see what develops. Over time, we will see what results may be forthcoming. I want to see UPRR steam back out on the main line.
DL doesn't look like he's doing much "work" with all that junk dangling from his belt, wristwatch on and all nice & clean. Even his hard hat is clean...LOL!!
Hey, look on the bright side. He's an IT manager. 844/3985/4014 will all get that Win7 OS upgrade that they've been waiting for....
Seriously, assuming he's a good people manager hopefully the program can be put back together and things will start moving forward. I'm with Kent, give the guy a chance.
