There is a show in Monaca,Pa I found out about  a couple years after getting married. When I finally got to go to it(my first show ever) I couldn't believe how much stuff there was(If I ever make it to York I'll suffer overload for sure) I came across a gentleman selling several items, including a 2677 Gondola. He was only asking $10 for it. We had had a baby come four months premature a couple months ago, and while she was pretty much out of the woods, daily life still consisted of nothing but going to work and making the trips to the hospital in Pittsburgh. But on the way up, we stopped for lunch and stopped by the show. I didn't want to spend the money (little as it was) but I got the gentleman's name and number.  Well Tax time came and I called him up, and he still had the car. So we drove up to Beaver Falls and I got it. I got to attended the show regularly, and I always made Sonny Murray my first stop and asked if he had any Prewar. I was on a quest to get a 45N, and the next show I headed for Sonny's spot, but there was a bunch of people in front of his table, so I looked around. I found a Postwar 45, and got it, and by that time I got to Sonny's spot, and sure enough he had a 45N. I got his too(for half the cost of the first one). I changed jobs not long after that, and only got one weekend a month, so I didn't get to the show for a while, but we exchanged Christmas cards for several years. One year I didn't get a card, and owing to his age when we first met, I figured he must have passed. But this gentleman made my day anytime I got to the show. Always cheerful, always had something I was after, and great prices for a newbie.

Dave,

You're still young and yet you are building your memory list. Good for you! Many years ago after joining TCA. I looked forward to the times I received the TCA Bulletin. I would pour over the listings to see what my special friends had for sale.

Not long after, I started reading the names of members who past. One by one the names of my friends started to appear. As I read their names, the memories started to race through my mind. Soon after the tears poured down my cheeks.

Good luck on your journey and building your list of, "Memorable People".

God Bless,

"Pappy"
