AIU ACC port control of Menards

If you don't want to splice/cut into the cable of the Menards DC-output power supply, you could use a pair (one male, one female) of screw-terminal adapters as shown.  These are widely available (eBay, Amazon, etc.) for around $1-2 a pair.   Use the terminology as shown upper left.  Be sure the terms 5.5 and 2.1 appear in the listing (that's 5.5mm and 2.1mm which are the outside and inside diameters of the barrel/coax connector)

Or, also for about $1 a pair, you can get pre-wired male and female 5.5mm 2.1mm coaxial connectors.  In this case the operative search term will be "pigtail".  Typically these have rather short pigtails (less than 1 foot).  So for a typical train layout where the AIU is probably located many feet from the building, you'll be splicing in a longer cable run anyway.

This style connector is widely used in CCTV security cameras and for LED light strips so you'll often see such terms in the description.
