Ladies & Gentlemen,

Menard's hits another home run with it's weathered wood floor, long Flat Car with US Army Copter Load, a very nice long Flat Car, with light weathered wood look flooring &  nicely detailed US Army Copter.  A seriously nice addition to my US Army Special Forces Train.  If you are looking to add to your Military Train don't pass this one up, she is a beauty of a Long Military Flat Car.

My one big gripe is that there is no real nice box for this Car, just the plastic inner packaging, you see in the picture,DSCN1382DSCN1383 and the outer shipment box. I Need boxes for my good Train Cars Menard's!

I sure wish there was a store around us. I don't understand their shipping policy???????? Seems to cost more than the product??

Unless I'm messing up trying to figure it out ???

John, the add says yes different numbers.

Now with a longer body and a real wood composite deck, this flatcar is bigger and better than ever! This super-low military flatcar features die-cast couplers with fully sprung trucks and a swing-type drawbar. Each flatcar comes complete with pad-printed logos from the Alaska Railroad. Loaded on this flatcar is a beautifully adorned die-cast military helicopter.

  • Super low, all-wood composite deck with all die-cast couplers and fully sprung die-cast trucks with a steel swing-type drawbar
  • Uniquely numbered - no two are the same!
  • 32 stakes included to secure your load
  • Navigates O-27 curves
  • For best results, lubricate all metal parts before running

Ok maybe 1/50, I took a quick look at the Pilot area, doors,  windows , looks like 1" 1/4. 1"1/2 little guy would fit ok, No tools, no measuring stick, no data on the real bird, I have a scale Huey and it did and it fit on a 50' or 60" and it looked great on it, maybe the Huey was smaller then the Blackhawk.  A Huey runs a little over a 50'  and with rotor  included , O Well close enough for me.

I have had plans to model one of these for the last 6 years. I have a weaver army flat car, and a 1:48 h-60.

I have worked on and flown on this helicopter daily, for the last 18 yrs, 11 months!

If you are diehard proto, the army would never ship these by rail! But let's just suppose they did. The stabilator (wing under the tail rotor) would be removed, the main rotor blades would be folded back down the tail cone towards the tail pylon (there are special brackets that hold them and provide stability.) They would also be wrapped in plastic (shrink wrap) to help protect them.

Just sayin!  I have a boatload of Blackhawk's and will probably add this one as well!

These two are "M" models, the latest version, and have a folding stabilator. Spec ops, Air Force and the Navy have all used the folding stab for years, the Army has just started to on the regular Blackhawk's, and is now considering going back to the single piece. The folding one is 3x more maintenance intensive than the 1 piece. Plus , we don't "load them out" on a regular enough basis to justify the extra money, and man hours involved.
