Looking good Bob, I wish I had a layout up and running so I could justify one. But after the power and light building I thought it would be best for my health to hold off! Wink!

Yes, the light would show through, I might do it on this one. The workmanship on this house is second to none.till you see it person,it's hard to describe..
Well, now that grandpa's house came in , what's next ? I can't wait to see what comes out next...
Bob, I gather the swing is not mechnanized. Is the vibration from say a passing train enough to make it move? Thanks Chris

The swing is NOT powered. When shipped , it is attached via a rubber band so it won't move in shipment. I must say it looks very real !!
I received my house today. I like the way they securely packaged it, and it is in such a sturdy box. Also, I liked the way the swing was tied up with two bows. Easy to undo. The only flaw I saw was that the top came unglued from the chimney, but was right in the plastic packaging, so it will be easy to glue back on. There isn't much surface for glue, as the chimney is just a heavy cardstock; but I like cardstock buildings so I'm not complaining. I also like the little story that is on the label on one side of the plastic packaging. The kind of story we modelers like to make up about our models and layouts.
I agree with Cabinet Bob, I plan to light my interior too.
Mine is Number 400 of the 600 made on this limited edition, so if someone is thinking of getting one, I would not wait around to place an order. Evidently there are only 600.
The discussion came up elsewhere whether the lady walking up to the porch is carrying a pepperoni pizza or a cake. My wife said you would think a lady bringing food to a farmhouse would be bringing a cake not a pizza; but she pointed out it is a cherry pie with a lattice top crust. She has better eyes than me; I agree with her. If it was a cake, it had certainly fallen badly.
I like it..looks a lot like the Waltons house.

Hmmm, maybe they missed the boat by not having a sound set that said "Goodnight John-Boy."
Strange, it looks a lot like mine. ;-)
I'm glad you got one.
