So I decided to buy 4 lengths of 0-72 curves to go along with my new Sinclair tanker car.

As it happens one of the new sections has the center connecting pin shoved almost completely into the rail.

Now the obvious answer is send it back,  but has anyone else run into this?  This is my first Menard's track order so I am a little disappointed.   Any simple suggestions for fixing this without mangling the new rail section?

I have not, but if you use a small screw driver blade and split the end then use the screw driver to pry the pin back out  you will be fine, then recrimp the bottom portion of the rail back together. I've used that method a bunch lately to remove broken American FLyer pins in their S track.

The Menards track is good track, but in no way is the metal as hard and stiff as the original Lionel track and that is probably why the center pin was pushed too far in on your sections.

I’d second what Dennis says,…..it’s super simple,….once you get the hang of it, it’ll become second nature,…….you’ll get so good at spreading the rails, the pin will fall out,….
