Does anyone have any idea what the included 2 cords with male ends on each side could be used for? Just curious.

On eBay, for example, search for "5.5mm 2.1mm extension cable" and you can find various M/F combinations and lengths...though might be hard pressed to find white cabling as in the kit. For example, some M-to-M:
You can find not just extension cables but multi-way splitters. The key is they used the widely available 5.5mm/2.1mm (outside/inside diameter) coaxial barrel connector. The Menards accessory kit is a good value.
Or, to make a custom length extension cable with arbitrary gender change, you can buy male or female screw-terminal adapters for about 50 cents a piece. Not as compact as the molded connectors but no soldering required.
