Menards Buildings Lighting Question

I just use craft yellow paint, cheap stuff at art stores, and it helps dull down the poltergeist white lights.

I use them to brighten up dark space on my layout. I LOVE the brightness. But to each his own.

I use a couple methods to tone down the lighting on Menards buildings to match Woodland Scenics buildings.  Like Paul, I paint the leds, using Tamiya X26 clear orange paint.  Second, I reduce the dc voltage from 4.5vdc to around 2.75-3.0vdc.  This suits my taste.

I use a 12 volt power supply then at my buildings use one of these step-down power converters then set it where ever you want. Just make sure you set it before you plug in your building. I have 2 buildings per convertor works fine

Do you have a photo, you could share, I’m just having trouble visualizing where this would go. I am using the menards power pack with the 3  connectors.

Here are some shots of the connectors that I use along with the converter. The convertor will go between the connectors. One end goes to power supply the other to building. Or you can cut wire and put the convertor in the middle but you have to make sure that you keep POSITIVE  and NEGATIVE correct to the convertor in and out and to the building. You can get all of these items on the bay.
