They are not true 1/4" scale O-48 (technically 17/64 scale, but, then, I'd be accused of being a rivet counter. ) . They are O-27 in nature.

I ordered the Menards water tower about 3 weeks ago and received it yesterday. The tower does indeed have a blinking light. The Menards web page doesn't mention this. So, an inexpensive accessory with a blinking light. Finish is nice; I saw no flaws on mine.

Saw C&NW steam locomotive freight cars set at Menards store (Cambridge, MN) yesterday.
@CGWforever: Just the freight set and no seperate sale cars?
I spoke to saleperson, she said flat cars are coming (seperate cars)
Visited a Menards today. They had the shelf spaced assigned for the seperate sale cars but no items yet. Here's what was on the shelf price labels: Flat car w/truss load, flat car w/lumber load, flat car w/ car hauler and flat car w/security truck. F/C's with truss/lumber showed $19.99, F/C w/security showed $29.99, I don't remember what the car hauler was (either $19.99 or $29.99). The CNW set was on the shelf along with the Coca-Cola set. Various woodland scenic items were also on the shelf.
Local Menards have their building versions from Woodland Scenics on sale thru 12/2. Looks like a $20/building savings.
Also, the Penn Flyer set is on sale for $149.99.

Basically, a lot of the stuff in their Collectibles department is on sale at good prices.
Any updates on the flatcars with loads ? Dont seem to be listed on Menards.com
I was at a different Menards, this past week, than the one I originally saw the space allocated for. That different Menards did not have shelf space allocated. As many of you may know there have been production issues with the Chinese manufacturers which has affected all toy train sellers. Just speculation but perhaps that's the issue here and we may not see any seperate sale cars. They are usually on the shelves by now. I've also observered the Menards web page return odd results as in incomplete results when scanning for Lionel or collectibles, etc.
