Has anyone else had issue with the awning not wanting to remain adhered to the open-frame plastic underneath? Try as I might, I just can't get it to stay in place.
Alternatively, is there some product that won't melt the awning while providing better grip?

Try double sided tape, it should be harmless.
Contract cement would be my second choice, but test first.
Hmmm...... didn't even think about the double sided tape. Mind went straight to a liquid solution. Tape should work; thanks.
If you are looking for a glue, try "Rapid Fuse". It's similar to a "CA" glue. Marketed by DAP, carried by the other big box stores on the east coast, probably carried by Menards, too.
Rubber cement
Gorilla glue instant.....a few small dots applied to frame then hold awning for 30 seconds.....fixed. I like Gorilla because even in the middle of the woods I can find it.....and it works very well.....
