Here is Menards New caboose compared to the L brand. In My opinion and price you cant go wrong with LED lighting , back red lights flashing and the great quality. Its sure to be a big hit and hoping, more road names are coming..

That Menards caboose seems to be from the same mold as the Lionel, right down to the number of rivets (and I am not a rivet counter .) It is a great deal, and I look forward to additional road names.

Can you comment on the size of the tool box and tank that hang down from the underside of the cars. They look larger on the Lionel caboose than on the Menards version. Is that the case or is it just due to the shadows?
Stu
They did a great job on the caboose.

Lionel's does hang down more.
You need to compare the Menards caboose with a Ready-Made-Trains caboose.
The underframe on the Menards caboose has differently proportioned parts.

I could really use a caboose with flashing LED's for my army cars! I hope your reading this Mark!

Andrew, I am certain that the basic RMT cabeese are unrelated and were from the K-Line dynasty. The shells on these CNW ones are virtual ringers for the Lionel product. Peculiar if, in fact, ,the frame is different. I guess Menards must have struck a private deal with Lionel in this case.
It is a nice caboose. Thank you for the comparison Bob!! I too hope they come out with some more road names. B&O, WM, PRR, N&W to name a few Mark Menards. ;-)
