Another great idea from Menards. The Graphics are done very well and very detailed. When the flashing lights are on, it doesn't show through the red body . I would say an A+  on this one.. Somehow  I think an Ambulance Garage is being built somewhere in Menardsville.... MEDIC1MEDIC2MEDIC3MEDIC4

I received mine today....it is a nicely made and a welcomed addition to my layout.  Since getting it an hour ago....lol...I am already contemplating eliminating battery power and hooking it up to an existing 4.5 volt dc wall wart on my layout.  At the moment I am assuming it is running on 4.5 volts.  I opened the battery hatch on the bottom and their are three 1.5 volt button batteries. Later tonight, I will disect it and find out whats going on inside it!

imageOk, I couldn't wait.....I removed the bottom of the Menards Ambulance and confirmed for myself that it does indeed run on 4.5 V DC.  This is great since I will run it off one of my Miller Engineering transformers which I use for a sign and place it with my accident scene vignette.  Here are the pics of what I have done so far!

This should go well with my accident scene vignette....

Here's a quick video of the Menards Ambulance powered up with the AC to DC transformer that I jumpered off a nearby Miller Engineering sign on my lay out. After jumpering the transformer from the sign to the ambulance, I measured 4.0 volts DC which was plenty of power to the Ambulance as you can see from the video.
