This is a a…hmm, wonder why Menards doesn’t sell o scale figures. They put out a lot of really nice stuff at reasonable prices. Seems like they could do really well selling o scale figures. Hard to find good ones and a variety at reasonable prices. Especially hard to get children figures.

Sparty1225...RMT produced hand painted figures in both adult and child sizes. 48 seated figures as RMT-99417 and 48 standing figures as RMT-99418. Forum sponsors like Pat's, Trainz, Mr. Muffin and Trainland carry them probably along with your local hobby store. Reasonably priced at under $1.25 each figure.

They are not cheap, but Arttista makes the best metal O scale figurines, and they are hand painted here in good 'ol Delaware
Thank you for the response. I do have your RMT figures, they are very nice and we use them. We were modeling a fair section of our layout with rides and was hard to get a bunch of just children to put in the rides and around it. Same with a playground. Wouldn’t mind getting more modern dressed figures too.
For the quality, the RMT may be the best along with the Arttista and Woodland scenics. Bachman are good too. All of those are more expensive. Get what you pay for. I have also purchased some standing and seated figures on ebay and amazon. MUCH cheaper but the detail is MUCH less. I generally put these figures inside passenger cars and inside buildings where the detail cannot be seen and use the RMT etc outside on the layout where they can be seen. But if you need bulk, check those cheaper people out.

It probably comes down to cost. RMT has found a way to make them affordable. Menards hasn't... yet.
I have done the same. Have the rmt out where detail is more appreciated and eBay figures for the inside and rides. Seems like there is a market for In between eBay and rmt where I thought the menards figures they make already for their buildings could fill that gap.

Look on e bay I buy them painted and by the bag 100pieces for around 20 bucks.
Here is how I would stack up the available figures.

In the foreground I only use the top 3 levels. Level 4 in the background, and level 5 and 6 inside buildings or passenger cars. Even though RMT, GGD, and MP figures are painted, I routinely spray them with grey primer and repaint them to get rid of the gaudy colors and clown faces.
The unpainted figures are far cheaper than even the badly pre-painted figures, especially the Circus Crafts (15 cents each if you can find them) and China/eBay figures (20 cents each). Ali Express has 100 poorly detailed figures for $4 with free shipping (4 cents each).
China/eBay on left, Circus Craft on right
This compares to $6-$11 each for the best highly detailed pre-painted figures.
Here is an assortment of figures that I repainted. Top 3 rows are Beep People, bottom row shows Circus Craft and China/eBay figures.
Here is a mix of Circus Craft, China/eBay, and Beep People all repainted:

A bit odd that Menards doesn't sell any, since they obviously have contacts in China. They sell a lot of cheaper / knock-off toys in their stores.
