Menards Power House

Contact Menard's customer support, they're very good about sorting out issues like this.  That will get the problem solved the quickest.

Ken, it seems that all of your Menards buildings have the same problem. I have noticed at least three different posts with the same cry for help. Your last one seemed to find the problem...your power source appears to have too low of voltage if I read your last response correctly.

I did see there are a couple of threads with similar problems as Ranger Rick mentioned. I believe we discovered that your power source was inadequate. Is that correct?

Sorry for the late reply, I have been out of town.  My power source was a problem with the school bus maintenance building but that is fixed but I have no idea what is wrong with the lights in the power house.  The voltage at the plug is 4.6 volts & all the lights are dim except for the two red lights on top of the transformer & the lights for the flag do not come on at all.

Was the 4.6V reading with the building attached...or is that at the plug with nothing attached? 

What is the make/model of the transformer and/or the Voltage and Ampere ratings stamped on the unit?

Still sounds like a low voltage issue.  I'm not sure what all colors are used in your building but red LEDs operate at a lower voltage than white LEDs.  So if just the reds light up...

I am using a electronic 14v AC input & set to 4.6 DC output.  Everything is connected just like when I bought the Power House.  I have a Lionel oil well working off of the same supply with no problems.

Why don't you try unhooking everything from the transformer except for the Power House and see what you've got?

Tried your suggestion no change in the lights or the flag.  I forgot that the LED that light up the coals cars as the go through the power house work along with the transformer lights.  They always did I just forgot to mention that.  The flag & the lights on the outside of the building use to work also.
