Where abouts is Mercer Junction Train Shop?
Nowhere now, it unfortunately closed sometime back.
Mercer Junction was a great place. I will always be grateful for memories and friendships that I made there.
Mike CT, which BTS model did you have on the layout? I met Bill, who by the way, is still in business in West Virginia.
Before he relocated to West By God Virginia he lived in the greater Tampa Bay area of Florida.

The model on Dave's layout was Elliott and Sons Supply.
Most complex BTS model that I assembled, Was Cabin Creek Coal Tipple Dave M. did some very nice weathering of The Coal Tipple for me. Left center front building is a Korber building. Quincy Mining Co. (IMO, a good starter kit for most hobbyist).
Respect Mike CT. Both you and Dave possess fantastic building skills. Thank you for sharing the pix.

Mike CT: I notice a couple of period reefers in the background. Which era do you model? Of course the Diesel locomotive models on the shelf in the lower photo might mean that you run period and modern trains as the mood fits.

A collection of what ever happen on any given day. I like Weaver for some reason. A lot of what you see is/was Weaver offerings.
Mike CT: Chester "The Most" Holley (RIP) sold lot's of Weaver in his Tampa FL train shop. He had high regards for the quality and nice price models they produced.
A pity no one stepped in to purchase Dave's Mercer Junction train shop. I'm sure it is missed by many. Yet another void in the ever declining traditional train shops in America.
Item: O Gauge Railroading members, please support your local train/hobby shop as much as possible. No reason why the giant onliners should make all the $$$. Also, you can always return a defective item with no fuss which only helps raise your blood pressure lever to a dangerous level in the event you have to fight with the online crowd to get satisfied service (if any at all?). No local dealer? Most traditional shops offer mail order and will be happy to special order any train your heart so desires as well. Gads guys, you don't gotta get that train the same day you ordered it do you?
So remember to support the local down home dealers when you can. It's The American Way!
Sad to see this shop close. Glad to have visited and meet Dave on a layout tour trip to Cincinnati and Mercer back in 2016
