Merry Christmas all!

I want to extend and invitation to all model railroaders, and especially tinplate fans, in the Seattle area to visit the Volunteer Park Conservatory between now and January 1st.  The Conservatory is a 100 year old Victorian style green house owned by the Seattle Parks Department and operated by the Friends of the Conservatory.  Each year the green house is filled with trees, poinsettias, and other seasonal plants in a colorful display.  This year my crew and I lent a hand to put the display on motion with a standard gauge track running a Lionel Corp. Brute and Showroom cars.  Track and transformer were graciously donated by MTH.

Things have been crowded at the Conservatory in the run up to Christmas.  Tens of thousands have already come to see the display and visit with Santa Clause.  Each child visiting Santa has also had the chance to take the throttle of the Brute!  This week the crowds will be smaller and train fans will have a better chance to check out the train.  Friday afternoon may also bring a special treat for McCoy fans!  Stay tuned!
