Hi, I am setting up a new layout and am wondering if anyone has a favorite, easily setup digital set of meters for voltage and amperage they would recommend. Would like to set these up between the transformer/power bricks and the tracks.

I like these from eBay, it makes a small panel as they are small. Built in shunt for amperage. I have a 4 channel panel.
Hi Moonman. Thanks for suggesting this. Looks good, but I have one question, how does one make this show the low voltage used in O gauge? From reading this description, it seems to display 110-300 volts?
oh, would you mind sharing a photo of your panel setup?
thanks!
You know, your right. The description is confusing. I can't tell. The others I looked at are confusing also.
The panel is not so pretty. Just a piece of hardboard propped up behind the transformer. I need to make it mobile and the project came to halt.
I'll see if I can find my buy record. Mine definitely start at zero.
Haven't looked for a while, but previously haven't been able to find a digital volt/amp meter in a suitable range for our trains. Here is one that does 0-100v and 0-10 amps, but I would prefer 0-15 or 20 amps. Might be worth a try for less than $8, I am tempted to try one of these, but will also keep looking.
I am using PH-180s and they put out 10 amps, I don't really like the meter being at the top of it's range at peak, although I will probably never get close to full amperage on my PH-180s with what I have. If Moonman finds his purchase info, I hope they still have them, I may give them a try.
gentlemen, boy do I have egg on my face. I dug out that project and discovered why it was put away. I made the same mistake when I purchased those meters. That's why I didn't finish it.
I emailed the vendor on the item I posted (and bought). The range is 80-300 VAC.
However, I did find a digital volt and ammeter, that are separate, are the proper range.
They require a power source. Same size. Would run off of an accessory supply or wall wart. That would be eight displays for four channels. Kind of an ugly panel, but better than an analog.
The search continues...
Enjoy the holidays!
In the past I have purchased AC 0-20 and 0-50 range digital panel voltmeters on eBay, but I'm not finding them now.
Wait! Found some!
