Metra is coming out with an engine painted in Milwaukee Road colors. This will go into service this month.

Presumably we will see a Rock Island, Burlington and more. All the lines that made up Metra.

Andrew Fletcher is the artist coming up with the designs.

Metra came out with a Rock Island livery in December, 2017, to honor the retiring CEO, Don Orseno, who had started his career on the Rock. At that time, people thought it would be a "one off", as METRA had no announced "heritage locomotive" program, and still does not. With this locomotive, who knows? The agency is short on funds, and is purchasing used AMTRAK locomotives to fill roster gaps in serviceable locomotives. In any event, I would hope for BN and C&NW liveries in the future. Love the new Heritage schemes. Breaks up the monotony. The Milwaukee locomotive feels kinda "Little Joe-ish" !!
