Sorry WB47. I did not realize you had started a thread when I posted mine. I will add to your thread.
I got a bit artistic this past Saturday. A photo class took a hike around Scranton, PA's Nay Aug Park to explore our cameras and the territory. One scenic over look revealed this view of the original DL&W line in shadow while the trees above were still reflecting light.
The same spot allows this view of the Nay Aug tunnel
Also in the park is the Pioneer, a gravity railroad passenger car that was used by the Pennsylvania Coal Co.
Every few years, she gets spruced up. I'm not sure what color she should be, but I always knew her as red.
Neat old-style trucks on this beauty.
See you next Wednesday.
Nice photo's of Wyoming's open country side. O'Malley your pics did not come through. Maybe it my computer, do not know. Here are a few shots of some GP's and a lone SD-40 I think. This was taken in Holdrege Ne, I was going out west to look for some deer sheds. Nick
Here are some photos taken last Sunday at the Illinois Railway Museum:
1. CNS&M #749;
2. Milwaukee #265;
3. Santa Fe #2903;
4. C&O #2707;
5. CB&Q #3007;
6. MBTA #3334 (this PCC from the Boston system doesn't appear on the museum's roster, and it is parked on one of the most remote deadlines....I don't know what its future may hold.)
t8afa0, I don't have an answer for you, since I do see my photos. But I do have a guess. After posting the comments and photos into a different thread, i noticed one was already in place. I cut and pasted the content from my thread to put in here. Not all the code went along, so the attachments section at the bottom of my post is missing. Are you viewing this on a phone app? The app leaves a lot off the thread, especially when the photos are not counted as attachments.
I re-edited my post, and attachments are there. If my hunch is correct, the photos can be seen now.
I see them loud and clear. Love the old tunnels, they look low. Nick
Some vintage equipment laid up in Stamford, CT awaiting Saturdays festivities at Grand Central Terminal in New York City...
Took this one in 2006 while visiting the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum in Washington, PA. Check out it's name.
Great photos everyone...such a treat to see.
Chris
Maybe not as good as we think, but I sure wish we had rail travel as common as it was in the 40's and 50's. We used to take my grandparents to the station in Louisville and they would take the train to Mississippi. I would give anything to be able to catch a train there and go to Fla!
Some Northeast Corridor action at Perryville, MD.:
The Acela at about 135 MPH, in just three shutter clicks:
Toasters crossing the Susquehanna River to and from Havre-de-Grace, MD and Perryville:
The Branson, MO excursion train is definatly fun and worth the money! My new, one and only ever, fiance and I took the little excursion train ride and it was very enjoyable and relaxing! It goes along a river and through 2 tunnels on vintage cars!
A speeder located near the depot!
There are two tunnels on the line, which is still used!
Go during the off season and you might get an observation dome all to yourself!
Inside one of the BUD cars!
Another view from our car, (thats my recently engauged fiance in the picture!)
And outside view of the railcars.
The F9 at one end, at the other is an old B&O GP30 repainted in the same colors.
An old Frisco caboose located within sight of the depot. You could spot a few other cabeese along the 40 mile journey that takes 2 hours. Well worth the $29 price!
My mid-week video contribution:

Footage from Vintage Base Ball Day this past Saturday at the Strasburg Rail Roadbot footage of both #475 in action, as well as some old-time baseball fun. Enjoy!
That Branson train is now on my radar. I used to travel around there on my job, when I lived in Kansas City. Many of you posted shots of cool old stuff using modern cameras. I'll do the reverse. Here's some shots of modern stuff using a cool old camera--a 1902 Kodak Brownie No. 2 Model A! The camera may be 110+ years old, but it's working just fine! Shot 1: farm along the BNSF Marshall Sub near Sioux Center, IA. Shot #2: from UP Worthington Sub, Sheldon IA feed plant.

A few more shots of the Grafton & Upton Railroad taken this week at the yard in N. Grafton, MA...
Progress continues on the repainting of G&U F-7A #1501 into G&U livery. Number boards are done. Still waiting for the rest of the handrails and grab irons, and possibly G&U name letters on her flanks and/or a nose herald?? Not sure what the final version will look like!
Here's a shot of the yard in N. Grafton that includes all six of the locomotives on the current G&U roster. As you can see, some are in various phases of re-painting into the G&U corporate colors...
G&U GP9R #1651...
Big Jim... I just finished watching your video, and am thoroughly impressed. I actually found myself watching the ball game! Very interesting mix of themes, great photo angles and editing. Both your video and the one Chad made last week are definitely professional! Keep up the good work.
