I was doing the New York Times daily crossword puzzle on Tuesday and one of the clues was "a 17 syllable poem" - thanks for helping me answer a clue!!!!!

Good to hear!!  At least this thread has some use ...was beginning to think it was a waste of time if not for the three or four people who look at it each week!

I haven't a clue.

Why haiku is so addicting.

To read and create.

 

A three-line structure.

With a five-seven-five rule.

That will rarely rhyme.

That's okay....we take a lot of liberties with the form here!!    Just for the record, all you aspiring contributors out there (there has to be at least one!!) it's 5-7-5  for the syllable count.
