I was traveling home from a weekend in Watkin's Glen, NY, and decided to take the scenic route back. Here is Sayre, PA, one of the homes of the Lehigh Valley RR.
Not a very busy yard these days, but I still was able to catch a Norfolk Southern crew on the move.
The BNSF unit was the lead on this train pushing its way south. There were other locomotives in this former LV loco shop complex, but they were well hidden by trees and fences.
For some reason, these Canadian Pacific units were parked in a side track near the passenger station.
Casting the "caboose shaped" shadow on the grass by the freight train photos above is this caboose: Number 95 011, an original Lehigh Valley.
Several blocks north of the passenger station is the Freight Station, converted years ago into a restaurant. It hides this gem of a box car and a wooden B&O caboose.
Have a great Independence Day, fellow Americans! All others, have a great weekend.
