Hello.  Welcome to another edition of the Midweek Photos.  Here are some of my pictures taken on my return from Cleveland last month.  The place is Hamburg, NY, which is not very far from Buffalo.  This train station hobby shop is the home of the Western New York Railroad Historical Society.  The unassuming location hides some real gems.  Take a look.

There are a few cabooses here to show some of the railroads that ran through the area.  We see the Lackawanna 906 along with a Nickel Plate Road 412.  906 was restored about 25 years ago.  Just about ready for another round of paint and repair of parts, but solid nonetheless.

And there is another Lackawanna Railroad caboose!  Both were built in Scranton, PA at the DL&W's Keyser Valley car shops.  The under frames were at one time tender frames from steam locomotives. Still showing off some of the paint from her Conrail years.

A couple of these Alco switchers are on display here, too. Both from the South Buffalo Railroad, which was a Bethlehem Steel switching railroad for one of the local steel mills.

Far from being a switcher is this behemoth, Pennsylvania Railroad I1s no. 4483. 2-10-0s like this were heavy hauling steam engines on the Pennsy.  This is rather well kept.  It is the only steam engine on the grounds.

You can also ride trains on this railroad line as part of the Buffalo, Cattaraugus and Jamestown Railroad.  The Alco HH660 no. 43 is from local shortline railroad, the Buffalo Creek. This was restored about a decade ago, and is fading, but we see some fresher paint on some parts of the engine.

That is my contribution for this week.  I hope that you have some photos to share with us as well.  See you next week.
